I am one of the many people who daydream of living in Hawaii
and having perfect weather all year long, but the cold hard truth is that I love the seasons! Though each season has its
pros and cons, Spring is arguably the best season of all! The snow melts, the
flowers bloom, and you can finally go outside in your crocs without getting
frostbite. Springtime is gorgeous! The flowers, the trees and the gardens are
so beautiful! I love seeing the poppy fields in Mantua, the cherry blossoms at
the Salt Lake Capitol, and the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. Spring is
a time when the whole world changes.
There are very few things I love more in life than being
outside, so I’m especially excited when the temperature starts to rise. I love
running, hiking, or even just having a picnic outside. I’m excited to break out
the bikes, golf clubs, and strollers and soak up the warmer weather. The fresh
air just brings a whole new meaning to life. You feel the warm breeze, hear the
birds chirping, and see the sun beaming. It’s so fulfilling and rejuvenating.
Springtime typically means gardening time for most people. I
haven’t ever had my own garden before, but I try to help out in my parents’
garden each year. This year, I’m hoping to attend one of the seven free
gardening classes at Call’s Nursery to learn more about how to start my own
garden. I have a dream of being one of those fancy women who spend their fall
season canning delicious jams and soups, but I have to start by knowing how to
garden in the spring first. (It’s all about the baby steps, rights?)
I have a serious love-hate relationship with spring-cleaning.
I am a to-do list type of person, so getting everything organized is actually
pretty enjoyable for me. Growing up, spring-cleaning was always a tradition in
my family because we would have a giant multi-family yard sale at my Uncle’s
house each year, so I’m happy to keep the tradition going within my own little
family. This year, I’m especially excited for spring-cleaning because I feel
like my family has gained an unnecessary amount of clothes and toys over the
last few years, and I can’t wait to get rid of them. It’s a refreshing feeling
cleaning out the closets and wiping everything down (except maybe not the
baseboards).
Whether you’re looking forward to spending time outside in
your garden, hitting the batting cages for a date night, or simply sitting on
your deck watching the sunset, I hope you’re enjoying your spring as much as
possible. If springtime isn’t your thing, remember, the countdown to summer is
on.
